Activities

1. Manual for facilitators on Service-Learning

to educate teachers and mentors in this methodology. In this project, we are not only focusing on developing media literacy skills in young people. We are also employing an innovative approach, which is called service-Learning methodology. Target group for this activity:

01

Teachers

in the educational institutions where our young participants study.
02

Mentors

in the organizations which work with youngsters with fewer opportunities.

2. Course for youngsters on different aspects of media literacy

to give them necessary skills in the field. The course is designed to help the youngsters to shift their way of perceiving information, always doubting, double-checking, mistrusting – but finally making the best-informed decision based on information they are sure is correct. Duration of the course: 10 hours with 5 modules (the duration of each module – 2 hours)

3. Development of the youngsters' own media using a social network platform

young people apply on practice what they have learnt from the course on Media Literacy. Each of them will have to own a social news media that has to be live for at least 6 months. This activity includes private sessions (both with the project partners and facilitators) with each participant in order to decide the topic they want to cover in their news channel. Each youngster is responsible to create their media channel and stick to the schedule of publishing news on the previously chosen topic. The final result: a common report about how the activity went in each country.

What intangible outcomes do we expect from the project?

01
Classes on media literacy
02
Private guiding sessions with young people
03
New skills for young people for responsible consumption of information.
04
Spirit of active participation of young people.
